Scholarships
Folsom Fringe and smOdyssey has a tradition of offering scholarships for a small number of people would like to attend, but who are unable due to financial reasons. Besides the fact that we have all needed some help at one time, smOdyssey does this in order to ensure a high-quality group of volunteers who are committed to smOdyssey, its mission and a successful Fringe.
This year is no exception. If you are interested in a scholarship, we are interested in hearing from you. The minimum requirement for a scholarship is that each recipient will volunteer at least 12 hours for the event. After that is established, scholarships are granted based on need, commitment to smOdyssey and its various endeavors, and availability of funds.
Once an applicant has sent an email of interest, a application is sent. The committee uses the information on the application to score it against the rubric, which you can view here:
After the application is scored, an acceptance or denial letter goes out. Scholarships are based on a first come, first served basis. Should a scholarship recipient not fulfill his or her 12 minimum volunteer obligation, he or she will be expected to pay the Folsom Fringe registration.
